The Core Program
What is Enzyme Therapy?
Enzyme Therapy is classified as:-
1. Natural Alternative Health Care
2. Preventive Care and
3. Complementary Medicine

Enzyme Therapy goes to the underlying cause of the health problems. The therapist will look into the client's health history, diet and lifestyle and with help of some validation tools, she will design a treatment plan tailored to that individual using a combination of enzyme, dietary recommendation and nutrition needs.

What are Enzymes?
Life cannot exist without enzymes!
Our bodies cannot exist without enzymes. They are responsible for every function in our bodies. Every cell, every tissue and every organ in our body depends upon the reaction of enzymes. Even the best vitamins, minerals and hormones need enzymes to do their job. When there are no enzymes, there is no life.
Just what are enzymes?

Enzymes are protein molecules found in every cell of human, animal and plants. It carries a vital energy factor needed for every biochemical process in our body.

Enzyme is like a light bulb, and the vital energy is the electricity. A light bulb can only light up when powered by electricity. The electricity is the life force of the bulb. Similarly, the vital energy is the life force of the enzyme. Our main movement, temperature regulation and nerve system functions depend on this vital energy.

Why do we call enzymes our body's nature workers and life savers?
As the work force of the body, enzymes are directly involved in every aspect of our bodily functions, including the conception and formation of the human body. Every cell in the body depends on certain enzymes, and each enzyme has a specific job. They build, repair and clean our body, and rid the system of toxins. Digestive enzymes work in digestion, absorption, assimilation and elimination. Metabolic enzymes use nutrients extracted from food we ingest to build blood, bone, nerve tissue and organs. Enzymes are like nature's life savers!
Where do our bodies obtain these enzymes?
Our bodies obtain them from 2 sources:
1.  Endogenous Enzymes (produced by the body)

They are made within the various cells of the body and depending on the cell type and function, are
     produced at different rates.
2.  Exogenous Enzymes (from raw food we ingest, or from supplementary plant enzymes)

Enzymes are preserved intact in raw food. Unfortunately, most of us eat cooked and processed food
which is devoid of enzymes. Some of our food choices actually destroy enzymes in the digestive tract,
     e.g. alcohol, sugar and caffeine.
Your body will need some additional help to reverse the depletion. So taking supplementary plant
enzymes will optimize digestion and absorption of your food.

What are the types of enzymes?
Enzymes are divided into 3 major categories:
  • Metabolic enzymes

  • Digestive enzymes

  • Food/Plant enzymes

Metabolic enzymes: made by the human body, are responsible for running the body, including breathing, thinking, talking, moving and immunity.

Digestive enzymes: play a vital role in the efficient digestion of food.

Food enzymes: are found in all raw food and in supplementary plant enzymes. Supplementary plant enzymes cannot be manufactured like synthetic vitamins and minerals. They are grown in plant-form and extracted. They contain protease to digest proteins, amylase to digest complex carbohydrates, and lipase to digest fats. They help in pre-digestion, enhance nutritional support, and chronic support, as well as functioning as anti-inflammatory and detoxifying agents.

Since my body produces its own enzymes, do I still need plant enzyme supplements?
It is true that your body is able to manufacture enzymes. However, if it is not consistently supplied with the raw materials that are necessary to manufacture enzymes, you may develop an enzyme deficiency. In addition, aging slows down the body's ability to produce enzymes.

Factors such as a hectic lifestyle, poor diet, excessive intake of fat or sugar, eating cooked or processed food, alcohol and caffeine consumption all place the body under stress and require the body to produce enormous quantities of extra digestive enzymes, thus reducing the body's capacity to produce metabolic enzymes.

On the other hand, factors such as exposure to extreme temperatures, frequent air travel, illness, stress and strenuous exercise cause our bodies to work overtime producing metabolic enzymes, resulting in a diminished ability to produce digestive enzymes.

Unless steps are taken to fortify the body with enzyme supplements, the enzyme potential of the body will be depleted and eventually exhausted. As our bodies ability to function, repair when injured and ward off disease is directly related to the strength and number of our enzyme.

How can I fortify the enzyme potential in my body?
First: Change your diet! Eat more raw food - about 75% raw food to 25% cooked food. Raw food contains intact enzymes while cooking destroys enzymes.

           1.   Raw food consists of fruits and vegetables.
           2.   Fermented food: yogurt, miso, cottage cheese, tempeh, kimchi and olives.
           3.   Enzyme enhancer: sprout, raw honey and wheat germ.
           4.   Reduce enzyme dead food to minimal eg. canned food, baked food and processed food.
Next: Take supplemental plant enzymes. This reduces your body's need for digestive enzymes, which means your body will need to produce less digestive enzymes and be able to produce more metabolic enzymes.

What are the Enzyme Depleters in our lives -
  • Cooking
  • Milling / refining (also remove some of vitamin / mineral)
  • Food preservation method
    a) drying
    b) canning
    c) food additive
    d) preservative
    e) coloring agent
  • Pesticides in our food
  • Enzyme inhibiting food and beverages
    a) alcohol = excessive
    b) coffee
    c) beans, peanut, soy bean (should not be taken raw as contain protease inhibitors)
  • Free radical
    a) smoking
    b) sun rays (antioxidant can be destroyed by excessive exposure to sun
  • Drugs

All these factors gradually depleting the very enzymes whose job is to protect us.
Can enzymes improve specific health problems?
Yes! There is a strong connection between the strength of our immune systems and our enzyme levels. More enzyme reserves translate directly into more efficient digestion, absorption and assimilation, resulting in a body that is well-prepared to fight disease.

Some of the many problems that can be improved with enzyme therapy include:-

  • Arthritis
  • Cancer
  • Allergies
  • Atheroscleroisis / Hypertension
  • Cholesterol
  • Diabetes / Hypoglycaemia
  • Digestive disorders
  • Psoriasis
  • Skin disorders
  • Candidosis
  • Obesity
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Headaches
Enzyme therapy frequently requires doses far in excess of that printed on the label in order to speed up the healing process. As each case is different, it is always necessary to be guided by a trained enzyme therapist who will be able to assess your individual condition and determine how many capsules can be tolerated each day.
What's the difference between enzyme therapy and conventional medicine?
The standard medical approach is to diagnose and provide appropriate treatment: either drugs or surgery. Enzyme therapy approach is from a biological rather than a medical viewpoint. It treats you as a whole person with unique needs, as we each have a different biochemistry. Enzyme therapy involves cleansing (detoxification), feeding and nurturing your body system. The goal is to help your body reach its own natural balanced which will allow it to heal.
What enzymes are used in the therapy?
Digestive enzyme therapy is used to strengthen the body as a whole. Improve digestion and absorption of food, reduce stress on the GI tract, promote the growth of healthy intestinal flora and detoxify the body.

System enzyme therapy is used to reduce inflammation, improve immune system, improve blood circulation. Remove waste products, and help transport nutrient through the body.

Enzyme Absorption System Enhancer (EASE) maximize enzyme activity, absorption and bioavailability of various nutrients.

In the market there are plant and animal supplementary enzymes; what is the difference between them?
Animal enzymes (e.g. pancreatin, pepsin and trypsin) are taken from animal stomachs or intestines. They can work only in the alkaline environment of the small intestine. Animal enzymes only begin working in the later stages of the digestive process in the alkaline area. Pepsin can only break down protein and not carbohydrates and fats.

Plant based enzymes such as bromelain and papain are used for digesting protein and reducing inflammation. The best plant enzymes come from different varieties of carefully cultivated aspergillus. They are usually extracted from nonpathogenic aspergillus species and are free of mycelium contamination. When the aspergillus is removed from the plant, only the enzyme action is left. Such enzymes have been in food production for century and clinical for more than fifty years. Plant enzymes can work in the pH range of 2 through 12 in our digestive system. Because of their ability to aid digestion throughout the entire digestive process, and the fact that they can support the endocrine system, plant enzymes are more useful to the body.
How can we determine the strength and potency of natural plant enzyme supplements?
Natural plant enzymes are derived from a food source and therefore governed by the F.D.A.

Enzyme effectiveness depends on activity and not weight. Weight measurements are not appropriate since there is not necessarily a direct relationship between weight and units of activity. The enzyme activity of the products is measured in FCC units, e.g. Protease HUT, DU, CU etc... If the label only shows measurement in mg, we cannot be certain that the product contain active enzyme. Enzymes are very stable and will last at least 3 years.
Will enzymes interfere with my vitamins or prescribed medication?
Since vitamin are co-enzymes and minerals are co-factors to enzymes, without enzymes, vitamins and minerals are essentially useless, as they require enzymes in order to achieve their optimum function. Enzymes, therefore, will not interfere with your vitamins, but will in fact make them more effective.

Unlike prescribed medication, which controls the chemistry of the body, enzymes enhance the nourishment of the body so that it can heal itself naturally. Enzymes will not directly interfere with medication that you are taking, but they may decrease the necessary dosage. It is therefore recommended that you carefully monitor your body's individual response.

Please do not discontinue or reduce the dosage of your prescribed medication without first consulting your doctor.

Only customers using anti-coagulants, or blood thinners should not use proteolytic enzyme without the consent of their doctor. Those under going dialysis and has clotting disorder such as hemophilia should avoid taking proteolytic enzyme.
Are enzymes safe for children and pregnant women?
Yes, of course! Enzymes are safe for people of all ages, and will help to keep your children healthy and full of energy.

Breast milk is the only food that baby can fully digests. Infant digestive system cannot handle complex carbo until the age of 7 month and sugar until the age of 3 years. When the child fail to thrive or grow, enzymes are recommdended to balance their system.

Many children consume the same enzyme-deficient diet as adults (i.e. high in cooked and processed foods). Enzyme supplementation, especially when begun at an early age, will help to preserve your child's enzyme potential later in life.

In children, enzyme therapy has been used successfully to treat food allergies, asthma, skin problem etc...

Mother's milk is important in determining a baby's future enzyme capability; it is therefore important that pregnant women receive adequate enzyme supplementation. The ability to manufacture enzyme develop prenatally between the ninth and twelveth week in the womb.
Can I overdose on enzymes?
No. It would be extremely difficult for anyone to overdose on plant enzymes. Many people with severe digestive problems take 10 to 20 times the amounts per day that we normally recommend, with no adverse effects.

Plant enzymes are necessary food for all functions of the body. When the body's enzyme levels are high, disease disappears; when the body's enzyme levels are low, disease appears.
Are there side effects?
No. In nearly 70 years of comprehensive enzyme research and clinical trials, not one single side effect has ever been observed or reported.

However, a healing crisis may be experienced by some individuals in the early stages of enzyme supplementation. This is caused by the release of old built-up toxins as the body begins to Òclean houseÓ and repair itself. Headaches, bad breath, skin breakouts, change in bowel, fatigue and mild flu-like symptoms may occur as the result of withdrawal from caffeine, sugar, or other substances. Once these temporary symptoms vanish, you will feel better than ever before.

Healing Crisis

The road to better health begin with healing crisis

What is healing crisis?
Healing crisis is a process in which the body undergoes an intense period of cleansing (detoxification), rebuilding and repairing.

The more toxic one's bodily system are the more severe the healing crisis. There will be a temporary increase in symptoms during the cleansing process, which may be mild or severe depending on the toxic residue built up in your body over the years.

In the healing crisis, our body system works together to eliminate waste product throughout all elimination channel and prepare for regeneration.

Old tissue are replaced, the die off bacteria, fungus with their endotoxin are released into the body to be cleansed.

The crisis will usually bring out past condition. We often forget the illness or injuries we have in the past but during the crisis they will tackle the problem again.
What are the common reactions of healing crisis?
  • Headache

  • Nausea

  • Vomiting

  • Skin Break Out / Pimple / Rashes

  • Extreme Fatigue / Sleepiness

  • Constipation / Diarrhea

  • Fever (low grade) and Chills

  • Cold or Flu Like Symptoms

  • Ear-Infection

  • Frequent Urination

  • Increased Joint or Muscle Pain / Ache

  • Sinus Congestion / Mucus

  • Mood Swing

  • Dry Throat

  • Excessive Gas

  • Bowel With Blood

  • Lost of Appetite

During the healing crisis, it is important not to suppress these temporary symptom with drugs or stop the detoxification, or else you will not be able to reach your goal of good health.
How long will the crisis last?

Crisis reaction can occur immediately or within several days, depending on the quality and activity of the products.

Often the crisis will come after most people feel an energy boost at the beginning until the toxin starts dumping into the blood stream for elimination.

The symptom usually pass within 1 - 3 days, but for those with chronic health problem, the duration can last week, or some will have to go through many small crisis before you become better.

Although the symptom of healing crisis may be uncomfortable, and for one who has major health problem, the symptom can be dramatic and rather unpleasant. But it is a necessary process you have to go through because symptom are signs that the treatment is working and your body is overcoming ill health to become better.

Once the crisis is over, you will feel better and healthier.

How to ease through the Healing Crisis?

1.   Drink plenty of water (at least 2 litre, and purified or distilled) to flush out the toxin. Herbal tea/vegetable
      juice (cucumber) is recommended.

2.   Avoid vigorous excercise. But minimal exercise like walking is good.

3.   Cut down on refined, processed, fried and oily food. Eat more green vegetable and fruit (like papayas,
peaches, citrus fruits). Fruits are cleanser and vegetables are builders.

4.   Get plenty of rest and sleep.

5.   Go for lymphatic drainage massage or feet reflexology.

6.   Take enough digestive zym for better absorption and elimination.

7.   Used aromatherapy oil for relaxing and calming.

8.   Increased dosage of zym to speed up.

       Example:
       NeutriZymes -
       Flora Plus (if constipate)
       Digest Plus (bloatedness)
       Proteolysis (Ache)
       Lipase (diarrhea)

9.   Add support enzyme.

      Example:
      NeutriZymes IFC Control (pain)

How long will I have to take these enzymes? Will I become dependent on them?

Unless otherwise advised by a qualified enzyme therapist, you may take supplemental plant enzymes for as long as you like.

Your body is already dependent on enzymes - without enzymes, we would die. As everyone is born with a certain enzyme potential (that is to say, only a limited amount of enzymes can be produced by our bodies throughout our lifetime), it is up to us to preserve this enzyme potential as far as we can. We can do this only by increasing the proportion of raw foods in our diet or by taking supplemental plant enzymes.

You will not experience any immediate adverse effects if you discontinue your enzyme supplementation, but if you do not take steps to include a greater proportion of raw foods in your diet, you will once again be subject to rapid enzyme depletion through aging and poor food and lifestyle choices.

When will I see improvements from enzyme therapy?

Health problems do not happen overnight. It takes years of constant neglect and over-indulgence to create the conditions for disease. Similarly, our bodies need a period of adjustment and healing process to restore the balance. It takes about 3 months to see improvements.

Body will enter into 3 stage:-

Cleansing Stage, the body will begin to respond within the first 21-day period, paving the way for the healing process to begin.

During the first week, you might face some discomfort. The enzyme work first on priority organs and tissues. As the body discards toxins, it is normal to feel unwell, or to experience a decrease in energy. In these situations, you should increase the dosage of supplemental enzymes. The more toxic your body, the worse you will feel.

During the following 21 days known as Activation Stage, the body begins to balance, adjust and accept the changes. Response is heightened. Taking the correct activation dose is critical to the success of the product.

In the next 21-day period, the body will undergo a transformation. This gives the body an adequate length of time to adjust to the change, and to continue healing in a positive manner. The last stage is the Maintenance Stage, after you have achieved the results - your dose is reduced.

Enzyme therapy is a preventive approach to disease and health problems.

The Core Programme

1. Digestion

Unless the molecules most commonly found in human diets are digested, a complete and balanced procurement of nutrients needed by the body to sustain health and vitality will not be optimized.

Taken with meals, enzyme blends begin the process of food digestion in the stomach, reducing digestive stress on the pancreas and assisting complete and efficient nutrient availablity.

2. Circulation

Unless proteolytic enzymes are taken between meals, the proteins in your diet that were not digested in the gut may cause inflammatory conditions and immune reactions.

Once in circulation, the proteolytic enzymes that are taken between meals bind to alpha-2 macro-molecules. This imparts immunomodulatory benefits and maintains normal blood flow by breaking down blood clots (fibrinolysis) and platelet aggregation within blood vessels and breaking down excess extra-vascular plasma proteins, as in edema.

3. Elimination

Until the body's imbalance is taken care of, the possibility of being truly healthy is greatly inhibited, if not impossible!

Flora Plus (Probiotic) formulations are carefully mixed selections of microorganisms that are friendly to the human GI tract and that will help stabilize and maintain a healthy intestinal Flora Plus (Probiotic) ecosystem.

For anyone suffering from malnutrition spastic colon, stressed gall bladder, stressed liver, toxic bodies, and/or other maladies that are common in today's society, this natural antibiotic source many be the answer.
