Body Type 2 (S)

Description

Body Type 2 (S) has difficulty digesting protein (e.g. beef, chicken, fish, pork, eggs) because they lack sufficient proteolytic enzymes necessary to digest the large amounts of protein they typically eat. This body type is drawn to meats, heavy meals, and high-protein diets like the Atkins Diet.

They gain weight mostly in their upper torso, with broad shoulders and narrow hips. They have small, firm buttocks and lean or skinny legs.

Nutrition

The Type 2 (S) will need to make a conscious effort to reduce protein portions. Their diet should include plenty of vegetables, grains and fruits with small low fat protein choices. If weight loss is desired, portion control and calorie restriction will be necessary.

Exercise

To support the strength of the Type 2 (S), a workout that concentrates on each major muscle group and is coupled with daily cardiovascular activity is ideal. 20 minutes on a stair-stepper, elliptical machine or high impact sports will help to build cardiovascular endurance. Because they are prone to stiffness, the Type 2 (S) needs to thoroughly stretch each major muscle group before and after exercise.
