Body Type 4 (N)

Description

Body Type 4 (N) has difficulty digesting many foods and therefore tends to develop food intolerances, food allergies, and chemical sensitivities. Specifically, lactose intolerance is common with this body type due to a lactase deficiency. Because of their many digestive problems, this body type typically does not have any particular cravings. They tend to be very sensitive and therefore they often eat a very simple diet.

They gain weight evenly all over, with shoulders, waist and hips equal in width. They can be very thin and wiry or plump and soft, but in either case they will look similar to how they were in their teens.

Common Problems

*     Chronic allergies

*     Milk intolerance

*     Colitis

*     Frequent infections

*     Crohn’s disease

*     Diverticulitis

*     IBS

*     Spastic colon

*     Chemical sensitivity

Nutrition

The Type 4 (N) will need to make a conscious effort to avoid dairy products and processed foods. Their diet should include “white” protein (e.g. chicken, fish, eggs) at every meal. Vegetables should be cooked. They will feel better eating small, frequent meals. If weight loss is desired, portion control and calorie restriction will be necessary.

Exercise

Because they lack overall muscle mass, the Type 4 (N) will need a total body workout concentrating on weight training. The soft-bodied Type 4 (N) should get daily cardiovascular exercise (e.g. 20 minutes of brisk walking), and the wiry-bodied Type 4 (N) should focus on increasing muscle size and strength with 30 minutes of daily low-intensity cardiovascular activity. Each muscle group should be stretched before and after exercise.
